Biography

Pouya is an interdisciplinary artist, composer, actor, and theatre maker whose work bridges the worlds of music, performance, and storytelling. With a background spanning both stage and studio, his practice thrives on experimentation, weaving together sound, image, and narrative to reveal unexpected connections.

Throughout his career, Pouya has worked extensively across disciplines — recording and mixing albums, composing for ensembles, and creating soundscapes for theatre, performance art, film, and series, as well as collaborating with visual artists and other fields. Alongside this, he has performed as a theatre actor for many years, appearing in productions staged in Tehran and internationally. His credits include exhibitions, productions, and releases that reflect a distinctive voice — equally confident in contemporary composition, experimental sound design, live performance, and acting.

As an artist, he approaches every project as a dialogue between tradition and innovation. Drawing from classical Iranian scales alongside electronic soundscapes, Pouya shapes immersive atmospheres that challenge perception while inviting deep emotional resonance. His work often carries a political undertone, using sound and performance as tools of resistance and reflection.

Now based in Norway, Pouya continues to expand his practice in an international context, developing new works that cross borders and disciplines. His journey is marked by curiosity, collaboration, and political insight.
